Privacy

This page explains how Mull and Iona Community Trust handles personal information. Only the registered details below are confirmed. Everything else on this page is a placeholder.

TO CONFIRM: This page is proposed rather than signed off. It is not in the signed-off mockup. It is a skeleton, not a privacy notice, and must not go live in this state.

TO CONFIRM: The old contact page links to a document called “Data Privacy Policy”, but the link target was not captured in the scrape. That existing policy should be found first and used as the source for this page. Do not write a new notice from scratch if MICT already has one.

Who we are

TO CONFIRM: Confirm whether the trust is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and, if so, publish the registration number here.

What information we collect

TO CONFIRM: Needs a list of every route by which the trust collects personal data – the contact and enquiry forms on the new site, membership applications, tenancy and housing enquiries, donations, the online shop, Gift Aid declarations, volunteer records, job applications, mailing lists and event bookings. The old site carried a shop, a donation flow and a members area, so several of these apply. MICT to confirm which are still in use.

Why we use it, and on what basis

TO CONFIRM: Each purpose needs its lawful basis stated – consent, contract, legal obligation or legitimate interests. This must be worked out with MICT and checked by someone qualified. Do not guess a basis.

Who we share it with

TO CONFIRM: Needs the list of processors and third parties – website host, email provider, payment and donation providers, any mailing list tool, and any partner organisation the trust passes housing or funding enquiries to. Nothing can be listed until the finished build is known.

How long we keep it

TO CONFIRM: Retention periods are not published anywhere on the old site. Needs MICT input, and needs to take account of charity, tenancy and employment record keeping requirements.

Your rights

TO CONFIRM: The rights people have over their data, and how the trust handles a request to use them, need to be set out here in wording checked by someone qualified. Placeholder text is not acceptable on a page people rely on.

Contacting us about your information

Until a named contact is agreed, use the office details above.

TO CONFIRM: No data protection contact is published anywhere on the old site. Agree who handles data protection enquiries and publish a role and a direct email address.

Complaints

TO CONFIRM: Needs the correct route for raising a concern with the trust, and the escalation route to the Information Commissioner’s Office, with current contact details taken from the ICO itself.

Changes to this notice

TO CONFIRM: Needs the date this notice was published and a stated review interval.
