Who it helps

  • Community groups and organisations, for equipment, buildings, halls, events and running costs.
  • Individuals and families, including help with fuel costs and support in a crisis.
  • Businesses, including starting up and making a business more sustainable.

Most of this money comes from the Waterfall Fund, an independent organisation that distributes Garmony Hydro profits as grants to communities in Mull, Iona, Ulva, Gometra and Erraid. Deadlines fall a few times a year, and some funds stay open all year round.

The Trust has also offered small grants of up to £500 to community groups, with a preference for groups that promote recycling. Applications went by email to hcowe@mict.co.uk, or by post to An Roth Community Enterprise Centre, Craignure, Isle of Mull, PA65 6AY.

TO CONFIRM: Does the Trust still run its own grant of up to £500, separately from the Waterfall Fund? The old page gave no closing date and its application forms, in PDF and Word, did not survive the scrape. We also need a named contact for applicants.

Full details of every fund, who can apply and what the deadlines are sit on the funding and grants page.
