Mink prey on ground nesting birds. A mink trapping project has run across the island since 2004, managed with help from the Mull and Iona Ranger Service and worked by around 50 volunteers.
If you would like to help protect Mull’s ground nesting birds, get in touch with the Ranger Service. Equipment and training are provided.
TO CONFIRM: The old page tells people to “give the Ranger Service a call” but gives no number on that page. Until we have a direct number for whoever runs the trapping, enquiries can go to the office on 01680 812900 or enquiries@mict.co.uk. Please confirm this is the right route.
TO CONFIRM: The old page is undated, so we cannot tell whether the project is still active, how many volunteers are involved now, or what has been caught. If the trapping has stopped, this page should be written up as finished work rather than as something people can join. Needs MICT input.
