The path from Tobermory out to Rubha nan Gall Lighthouse reopened to the public on 16th November 2017. Heather Blaine cut the ribbon on a sunny morning, and a group of walkers and their dogs headed straight out to the lighthouse.
It is a very popular walking route in Tobermory and a designated Core Path under Argyll and Bute Council.
The work
Mull and Iona Community Trust received funding from the Improving Public Access Fund to engage local contractors to repair and rebuild the path.
Special thanks to The Northern Lighthouse Board and Glensanda Quarry for the donation and delivery of over 80 helicopter loads of aggregate for the footpath, and to Scottish Sea Farms for helping move materials and equipment on their barge.
